Our constitution right to assemble is the first amendment basically states that we the citizens have the freedom to of speech and press. Also that we the citizens have the right to peacefully assemble and to petition of the government for a redress of grievances and the citizen get what if right for them. When Donald Trump canceled the rally at Chicago and arrested the protestors. This should not have happened. The protestors had a right to protest and they were not suppose to be arrested. They were protesting peacefully and Trump had no right to arrest. He told the police to arrest them with any reason but to just arrest the protestors. Not only were they just arrested but they were pepper sprayed when they were just standing and protesting peacefully. Many of them just don’t want Trump to become president because of how racist he is and think that white supremacy is the best and only whites should be in America and make America better by taking out immigrants. It’s a freedom of speech for them to say whatever they want because that is how they feel and a freedom of assemble for them to protest as long as they are peaceful. They were completely peacefully and still got arrested and pepper sprayed which was positively not suppose to happen.

I would like to agree with you Judy on the part that Trump had no right to tell security to arrest people involved in the protest. Everyone has the right to express what they think is right for them. The only case someone should get arrested is when someone is putting some else in danger.

I believe we should have the constitutional right to assemble, and nothing should prohibit us from doing so. We need to have this right in order to show our discontent with what is happening in our government and our country. If they take this right away then we would have no way of expressing ourselves consequently, taking our liberty away. There are people who peacefully assemble and there are people who use violence . I don’t think people should be arrested for assembling, unless of course there is violence involved. If people get arrested for peacefully assembling I believe that isn’t congruent with the ideals of this nation. This is a free country and we should be able to show our discontent with different issues in this nation. Thus we should have the right to assemble without getting arrested on the contrary we should get praised and get our voices heard. I believe that rather than arresting these people at rallies they should let them have their voices and concerns heard. They should of course let the candidate say what they have to say, but then demonstrators should also have a chance to talk. This is essential , so this doesn’t keep on happening and so it doesn’t turn out to be violent because people are frustrated because they are being silenced.

I agree with you Mauricio that in order for violence to not be a factor they must hear the people. Possibly in the first place it is why people protest in order to get their voices heard and express themselves. If people are not heard by simply just protesting there will be violence involved in order to cause a scene and attention to be paid.

I also believe that people should have the right to protest because we are protected under the First amendment which is the freedom of speech and assemble . In that case no one should get arrested by being part of a protest unless you are hurting others.

Having the right to assemble is the liberty to protest for a cause that you disagree with. It’s our constitutional right to protest without fearing that we might get hurt or arrested. People aren’t supposed to be arrested for protesting especially when they do it peacefully because we have the right to express ourselves and to protest against what we think is wrong. In Kansas City people were pepper sprayed while they were just standing in a crowd expressing themselves. This just shows how the police are breaking the law and mistreating protesters for protesting peacefully. Protesters should not be pepper sprayed because they have the right to protest anywhere they desire.

I agree with you Marielos that protesters shouldn’t be bothered because they have the right express themselves. I think it’s weird how there yet hasn’t been a set of specific rules to protect protesters. I also like how you said that protesters are not afraid and it’s true because they wouldn’t protest if they didn’t care. I like the points you made because they are very clear and I agree with you.

We have the basic right to freedom of speech and press. Thus we are able to protest and speak up against what we think is unfair. I strongly believe that we should have the constitutional right to assemble. No one should be able to remove this right simply because it is a way we can express ourselves and be heard. People usually approach protesting in two ways: either they do it peacefully or go all out using violent methods. I think that people should not be arrested for protesting. If they are then what good does having the freedom of speech and press do for us. Unless protesters are being violent and causing damage and harming others then that's when i think they should be arrested. I believe that the protesters at the rallies should not got arrested because they are having their voices heard. They are upset with what is happening and what the candidate is saying that they should be able to say something in return. I also think that the protesters should also be respectful and let the candidate say what they have to say. In the current rally we saw that it got violent and protesters used physical contact as a means of showing that there were not okay with what is going on. This was nort the most effect action to take because they could have peacefully protested.

I agree with you Aldo that people have the right to protest and to state their opinion. I also agree that people who use violence in their protests and harm others should be arrested. It is the right of people to state their opinion but not to harm other people which is unacceptable.

We have the right to freedom and expression and here we see how people rights are being violated by the way they are being taken away and kicked out of these rallies. As well as being arrested, now it makes me wonder why are they getting arrested if they are expressing themselves and are standing up for what they believe in without harming anyone. Many people are protesting against trump because they believe someone better can run for president or his beliefs are too radical and would tear this country apart. As with that said the fact that trump is encouraging his voters to fight against these protesters is simply just horrible because the protesters are not harming anyone and if anyone is getting arrested it should be the people that are starting these fights and encouraging them. The assemble we should have rights protecting ourselves when we assemble by not harming anyone but yet being able to speak out our minds and not get hurt by others. As I would watch all these videos if frustrated me that there are people that will still act like that today and will not care. As if they felt proud of harming people.

I think that all that occuring is a violation of many of our first amendment rights .Although the individuals happened to be present in the rally he had no reason to arrest kick out or instagate violence and giving his followers the right to start deliberate fights. These protestors were using their right to assemble and it is a form of freedom of speech . Its sad to see that after the little progress this country has made people like Trump can use hidiouse insults to deminish and encourage the rise if racisum and injustice for volored people to be established in our society again. He can try and arrest as many colored people as he wants but the matter of fact is he needs us and this country needs us because without us there isnt a U.S

I believe everyone should have the right to assemble without getting arrested. I believe this because we are protected by the first amendment, which means the freedom of speech, press, and the right for people to peacefully assemble. It’s unjust for protesters like in the Chicago rally get arrested for making their voices being heard. White supremacy plays a big role in this issue. For example, the candidate Donald Trump demonstrates the stereotypes he was on people of color. He only thinks America will be better with white supremacy. It wasn’t right for protesters to get arrested for simply speaking for their ideas or cancelling one of the events in Chicago. The protest didn’t seem violent it was Donald Trump who provoked people with his racist words and actions. The American dream doesn’t feel like a dream it pretty much seems like a fantasy do to the fact how people are dehumanized and how the white race feels more dominant than anyone else an example of this was when the white old man punch the African American in the face. It was unfair for the white police to only arrest the African guy and not the other one. This gives a clear example of how unjust our society is. Demonstrators should take people into consideration and hear their ideas. Ultimately, I believe people should have the right to assemble without getting arrested because they are protected by the first amendment.

I believe that we have the constitutional right to assemble and it should never be taken away from us. It’s in the constitution we also have the right of freedom of speech ,religion, press, assembly and so on. The constitution is something that the U.S “treasures” a lot because it’s what helps the country run well. If the constitution is very treasured why are people being held accountable for the rights they have. The constitution would simply be considered contradicting if the country did not follow what they have written down as a set of rules. The reasons why people protest are many and being arrested for doing so is wrong under certain conditions. For example if you are peacefully protesting at a rally or event and someone attacks you, and you hit them back it’s self defense. It’s not fair to be arrested when you are defending yourself when you are being attacked and could possibly die. We have the right to protest it’s considered freedom of speech and it’s not bad because it’s on the constitution. It’s bad because we have a country that barely follows it’s own words written on a constitution. Indeed we should have the right to protest without being arrested ,it’s only reasonable because as people we need to be able to have the freedom to express ourselves. Nothing should happen to demonstrators because they have the right to protest and they are doing it peacefully. In the occasion of Mr. Trump he is a violence provoker and he’s possibly still a candidate in the election because of his inherited money. Trump encourages all of his blind followers to hit anyone that does not like him or whatsoever. He himself says idiotic phrases like “I would like to punch him in the throat” and so much more. He says he will bail people out if they ever are to do anything reasonable at his protests. How can he not expect people to protest when he’s launching a ton of racist slurs at people. Moreover, how can he encourage chaos and later not be able to handle it all he says is “Take him/ her out Take them out”. Later protesters are escorted out aggressively and are mistreated. Nothing should happen to protesters because they are using their constitutional rights. The system should police officers and so on people that have power should know constitutional rights. They know the rights some people choose to take advantage of that power. There should be no consequences for people who are peacefully protesting it’s their right to do so.

I agree with you Yesenia that it would be contradictory to the Constitution if we would not be allowed to protest. I also agree that what happens at the Trump rallies is not right, people shouldn’t be attacked for simply stating their opinions at rallies. Trump is encouraging violence at these rallies which again isn’t right because people are simply stating their opinions.

Since we are protected under the first amendment which is the freedom of speech and assemble, I believe that everyone have the right to protest. In that case, everyone can have different opinions and they can express it the way they want to. Sometimes the best way to get heard is gathering a lot of people with the same beliefs as you and protest for what you think is right. We should have the right to protest and not get arrested in certain cases. If the person is hurting someone or putting someone in danger , they should get arrested. In the other hand, if protesters are just being loud and blocking streets , that is not something someone should get arrested by. I believe that there should be police around protest because sometimes things can get unhandled but that doesn't mean people should get arrested by protesting. I don't agree with Trumps actions he made when he told the police to arrest people who were not doing anything but just protesting for what they thought it was right. I believe that protesting brings everyone together and make a better country because protesting shows that people do care with what is going on around the world.

I agree with Maria too that we are protected under the first amendment and we have the right to protest. I also agree that to get someone to hear us we need to gather people and protest. Not just protest but protest peacefully and have our voices heard. Like what you said Maria, protesting brings people together.

I believe that we have the right to protest because if people have the right to support then protesting should be granted as well. We are protected by the first amendment, which includes the right to assemble. The police should respect that amendment, its is written in the constitution and we are all citizens of the US and deserve to have our rights granted. Its yet another stepping stone that symbolizes the people of the country being dehumanized. Why are people getting arrested for protesting? Can some give me a legitimate answer? Saying that the people were causing harm is no excuse to arrest them. the protesters in the Trump rally were not using violence to express their opinion. Trump is just worried that the protesters will bring down his popularity in his campaign. He knows that united we will stand and take him down. He's trying to take us down one by one, but let me tell you that we will not back down that easily! Instead of being arrested, protesters should be allowed to protest with full privilege and no restrictions. If we are unable to have our rights granted then united we will stand and united we will fall. We will make a difference and it will benefit us all.
