Just wanted to say thanks to Professor Crain and the awesome 8:30 class for allowing me to have such a great quarter (and such a great start to the school year). It was fun being in class, making friends and having class discussions. Some of the schedule was off, but we still learned a lot in class and I had a great time learning about political issues in society today. By the end of class, I began having lots of fun writing about these political issues and researching things discussed about in lectures. So anyways, thanks a lot to everyone to make this a great learning experience. :)

I am not one that is actively involved politically with what is going on in this country 100%, but i do enjoy hearing both sides of an argument when it comes to politics. You have shared a few different sources that i know for a fact i will be using in the future. One of those sources is that guns and butter radio station thing. I found it really interesting. Also how we are required to share a blog/post every week was good too. It allowed us to express ourselves to everyone else. It allowed for people who may not feel so comfortable to speak out in class, to share their opinions. Also having to reply was a good way for us as students to go through and read the posts and find out which of them we would want to comment on.

I just want to thank Professor Crain for a great year; this class definitely got my day off to the right start. I really like how you taught the class and I know future students will too (don't change anything :)). I am maxed out on credit hours again for next quarter but hopefully I will see you in another class in the future! Thanks again!

Thank you Professor Crain for getting me interested in politics, and letting us understand how it really affects our everyday life even though we don't know it. Although 7:30 class is a little early at times, the class was always full of interesting discussions and topics. Thank you!

I must say this class have given quite the adventure and inspirations. I've always done my projects for the grade but our community based project was the most impactful. I learned so much about the homeless community and because of this project i have began doing my part. Though it is a small part but i feel helping and volunteering can make a difference in the future. I've always been a skeptic of conspiracies or the unfair treatment of citizens in the united states. Though my views have not changed, not really, but my eyes have opened to the truth. I realize that freedom come at a cost and it is students like me that can change and make a difference if the drive is there. If i may suggest: at times instructions and communications between us slightly lacking. I do understand the constant business you have. I merely want to let you know that is the only snag i had in your class. Thank you for everything, you've been a great and understanding professor and i wish you all the best.

This class was definitely something different. I've never, not even in high school, had a class where the instructor shared different perspectives about a topic. Professor Crain has changed the way I think and look at the world. She has taught me the reality of many things to which I was blind to. The best thing about this class is that you share your opinion a lot. I think that's worth more than a simple multiple test. Nevertheless, this class was fun and very entertaining throughout the whole quarter.

I have to say, this class was one of the most engaging classes I've ever been in. I found myself consistently being one of the many active voices in the class, much moreso than other courses I've taken. Although Professor Crain makes clear her feelings about politics and the government, she is able to teach without forcing her ideologies on others (which is an easy thing to do when talking about politics, it tends to happen unconsciously).

Honestly I never thought that I'd ever enjoy a political science class or the subject itself but this class completely changed my mind. Professor Crain presented topics/issues that changed my perspective on our government and the issues that actually affect our lives because what we do is so important! I even want to start contributing to the community, do something positive. Its was an awesome class, thanks Professor Crain!

This class made me look back to re-analyze myself, not just as a person but as an intellectual. I believe everyone has a purpose, and I myself have a duty (like many others) to impact society even with the slightest contribution. It's easy to seek out questions, but its the truth behind the answers you have to work for!

For anyone who was interested in the topic of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMO), here is an article on how Cheerios have decided to take the step into banning GMO's, and how they hope it will help the cereal market: http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-01-03/what-gmo-free-cheerios-means-for-cereal-rivals
